Valencia: a cinematic set that needs no scenery
Valencia is the one Spanish city where Calatrava's white concrete, a riverbed turned into a park and a colourful fishermen's quarter all fit into a single afternoon. The Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias looks lifted from a sci-fi film, and that makes any conceptual idea believable without inventing a thing.
For cinematic-conceptual work that changes everything: the architecture's curves act as vanishing lines, the reflections in the pools double the subject, and the contrast between futurism and the old town's stone gives real narrative layers. We aren't after a pretty picture — we're after a frame with a story.
We treat the image like cinema: one clear idea, a palette, built light and a subject who acts rather than poses. Valencia lends the sets; we bring the direction.
From idea to frame: how we direct the shoot
We start with a visual script. Before touching the camera we define the concept, the references, the colour palette and what the viewer should feel. From there we settle wardrobe, props and, above all, the locations that tell your story: the Hemisfèric's white tunnel, the Àgora's walkways, the bridges of the old Turia riverbed or El Cabanyal's tiled façades at dawn.
On the shoot we direct as on a set: we mark positions, work the gaze and the gesture, and build light with reflectors or strobes when the concept calls for it rather than relying on the sun alone. The blue hour over Calatrava's concrete, with the architecture already lit, gives that film-teaser feel that defines this service.
We shoot already thinking about the final edit: wide frames for context, tight shots for emotion and details that stitch the narrative together. Editing is part of the concept, not an afterthought — cinematic colour grading, controlled contrast and a consistent atmosphere across the whole series.
Production, timing and price
A cinematic-conceptual project is quoted per project, from €300, because each idea demands its own pre-production: number of locations, wardrobe, props, lighting kit and shooting hours. In the first conversation we pin down the concept and I send you a fixed quote, no surprises, before you book.
The price includes the directed session and a high-resolution gallery with editing and cinematic colour grading, ready in five to ten days. If you want to extend it with makeup, a second location, drone or a short video piece to accompany the series, we add it to the quote from the start.
Valencia plays in your favour on logistics: the airport is fifteen minutes away, the metro and the Turia cycle paths connect almost every location, and most sets sit close to one another. That means more time creating and less time travelling during the day.

"Creative project with coloured smoke for my artist portfolio. Very good execution. Cleaning up afterwards took a while, but the photographer warned us beforehand."
