Alicante as a film set

Alicante offers something few Costa Blanca cities do: real contrast. The Santa Bárbara castle cut against the gulf, the rippling marble of the Explanada de España under the palms, the stacked coloured houses of the Santa Cruz quarter and the hard blue of the Mediterranean. For a conceptual or cinematic shoot, that's a location list already written.

Conceptual work isn't about a pretty backdrop — it's about an idea pushed to the end: an atmosphere, a colour, a character. Here we build that idea with you before we shoot, and the city brings the texture — stone, salt, raw Mediterranean light at noon and gold at sunset.

How we work a concept

We start from the idea, not the camera. Before the shoot we define the mood — visual references, colour palette, wardrobe, a narrative line — and choose locations that serve that story: the Santa Bárbara castle walls for something epic, the Santa Cruz alleys for something intimate and saturated, the port and marina for urban coldness.

On the day we direct: position, gaze, rhythm, where the light falls. We work with natural light and, when the concept calls for it, add artificial light — a single source, a flag, smoke or colour to sculpt the scene. The blue hour over the port and the sunset backlight on the Explanada are tools, not accidents.

Post-production is part of the concept, not a final retouch. The colour grade, contrast and grain are decided from the start so every frame belongs to the same film.

Production, timing and budget

A conceptual shoot usually takes a half or full day, depending on the number of looks, locations and lighting setup. If the concept needs permits in parts of the castle or the port, we arrange them in advance; in Alicante almost everything is close together, so two or three settings can be chained in a single day.

Pricing is per project, because every concept has a different scope: direction, wardrobe, lighting kit, advanced retouching and, where relevant, video. After a first conversation we send a fixed quote with the breakdown, no surprises.

Delivery is an edited, graded high-resolution digital gallery, ready in five to ten days. Exhibition or fine-art prints are prepared separately if you want to take the series to a wall or a physical portfolio.
