Barcelona as a film set
Conceptual photography doesn't aim to document a place — it builds a scene. Barcelona offers a set few cities can match: Gaudí's rippling modernism, the stone alleys of the Gothic Quarter, the mosaic terraces of Park Güell and, half an hour away, the open horizon from the Bunkers del Carmel. Every corner is already an atmosphere to work with.
We start from an idea, not a pose. A concept, a palette, an emotion — urban solitude, Mediterranean surrealism, an editorial portrait with cinematic tension — and from there we choose location, wardrobe and light so the image says something rather than merely depicting someone.
The result isn't just another pretty photo: it's a considered piece, with narrative and direction, that holds up both on a wall and in a creative portfolio.
From concept to frame
We start with a conversation and a moodboard. We pin down the idea, the visual references, the palette and the tone — from dramatic chiaroscuro to saturated film colour — and out of that comes a shoot plan with locations, light timing and wardrobe or prop needs.
On the day we work like a small crew: I direct every frame, adjust pose and gaze, and use the light each place gives. The Gothic Quarter calls for shadow and geometry; Park Güell and Passeig de Gràcia for colour and modernist curve; the Bunkers for open sky and silhouette at sunset. If the concept asks for it, we add haze, mirrors, colour gels or a second light.
Post-production is part of the concept, not an afterthought. We do a careful edit with cinematic grading consistent with the original idea, and when the piece calls for it, more elaborate compositing.
Duration, delivery and budget
A conceptual session usually runs two to four hours depending on the number of scenes and location changes. If the concept involves several looks, props or a second part of the city, we book it as a half day.
You receive a digital gallery of edited high-resolution images with the agreed grading, ready to print or publish, within five to ten days. Pieces with advanced compositing may need a little longer; I'll flag that when we lock the plan.
Pricing is per project, because every concept has its own scale: number of scenes, wardrobe, props, lighting gear and post-production hours. After the first chat and the moodboard I send a fixed quote, no surprises.

What our clients say
"Conceptual session at sunset with fabrics and movement. I gave one reference and he blew past it. Almost cinematic, very artistic images."
"Creative project with coloured smoke for my artist portfolio. Very good execution. Cleaning up afterwards took a while, but the photographer warned us beforehand."
