Granada: the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada in the same frame
Granada concentrates two elements no other Spanish city combines: the Alhambra (13th-15th century Nasrid palace, UNESCO Heritage) and Sierra Nevada as snow-capped backdrop November-May. This means in March-April you can photograph the ochre Alhambra with white mountains behind — composition impossible in any other Mediterranean destination.
The Albaicín — the Muslim old town facing the Alhambra — is a labyrinth of whitewashed streets with cármenes (walled gardens), orange trees and viewpoints. Mirador de San Nicolás offers Granada's most famous postcard: Alhambra at sunset with Sierra Nevada background. It's Spain's only city where you can shoot medieval urban photography with Andalusian light and mountains in same frame.
Granada's light has special quality: 738m altitude + continental climate moderated by Mediterranean influence gives longer, more golden blue hour than other Andalusian cities. In October-April light is excellent all day.
