Ibiza as a cinematic set
A cinematic conceptual session isn't after a pretty portrait: it's after an image that says something, with its own atmosphere, colour and tension. Ibiza delivers that like few places. The island has two complementary faces: the Es Vedrà rock cut against a metallic sea, the Dalt Vila ramparts as a historic set, and beside them the impossible-blue coves and whitewashed walls that read like a minimalist soundstage.
We build the idea before the shutter. We define a concept — solitude, desire, ritual, escape — and construct the image around it: wardrobe, palette, hard or veiled light, and a location that reinforces the story rather than competing with it. The result doesn't look like a holiday snap, it looks like a frame from a film that only exists in these photographs.
How the concept is built
We start with a conversation and a moodboard. From there come film references, a colour palette and a short list of locations that serve the story: the Dalt Vila lanes at dusk for something noir, Es Vedrà at sunset for an almost mystical image, a plain white wall for a graphic, hard-hitting portrait, or Las Salinas with its flat golden light for something dreamlike.
On shoot day we move slowly and with intent. I direct posture, gesture and gaze so every frame holds the concept, and shape the natural light, reinforced with a head or a reflector when needed. We don't fire hundreds of random shots: we close a few images, but each one thought of as a scene.
Post-production is part of the concept, not cosmetic retouching. The colour grade, grain, contrast and atmosphere are built in the edit so the series carries a coherent visual identity, just as a cinematographer would give a film.
Duration, delivery and budget
A conceptual session runs three to five hours, depending on the number of looks and locations, and is often planned around sunset light or full dark. It's worth booking ahead to prepare wardrobe and, if the concept calls for it, props or a small lighting kit.
You receive a selection of final images with a cinematic colour grade, edited one by one in high resolution, within five to ten days. The series is delivered as a coherent body, made for large-format printing as much as for editorial or personal portfolio use.
Pricing is per project, because every concept has its own scope — number of looks, locations, props and level of post-production. After a first conversation we prepare a fixed, tailored quote with no surprises.

What our clients say
"Conceptual session at sunset with fabrics and movement. I gave one reference and he blew past it. Almost cinematic, very artistic images."
"Creative project with coloured smoke for my artist portfolio. Very good execution. Cleaning up afterwards took a while, but the photographer warned us beforehand."
