Portrait photography — Valencia

It's the most common worry, and the answer is no. I don't ask for magazine poses; I give small cues — where to look, what to do with your hands, when to breathe — and let the natural gestures appear between frames. Most of my favourite portraits come in those seconds when someone relaxes and laughs at their own shyness.

It depends on the feel you want. The Ciudad de las Artes gives clean, modern, very graphic portraits, with white lines and water reflections. The old town, around the Plaza de la Virgen, gives something warmer, more romantic and timeless among stone and lanterns. The good thing about Valencia is that in a single session we can touch both worlds without travelling far.

Yes. One simple change fits into a standard session if we plan the areas sensibly — for instance, a more urban look for Calatrava and a more relaxed one for the beach. I recommend solid colours and fabrics that move in the air; avoid large logos and busy prints. If you want two or three full changes, we extend the time a little and lock it in at booking.

Every final image gets careful editing of colour, light and contrast, plus natural retouching: I remove shine, a stray blemish or a heavy under-eye shadow, but I keep your texture and your features. I'm not after plastic skin — I want you to recognise yourself and look good. If you need deeper retouching for a specific use, we discuss it beforehand and I handle it separately.
