Between week 28 and 34 is the sweet spot: the bump is already the protagonist but you still move easily and don't tire quickly. If you're expecting twins, we bring it forward a little, towards week 26 or 28. The key is not to leave it for the last minute — we book with margin and, if the baby is in a hurry, we reschedule with no penalty.

We keep a wardrobe of long, flowing fabrics made for maternity, in neutral and warm tones that work both at sunset and in the studio. I suggest them according to your skin tone and the mood you're after. You can also bring your own pieces — a flowing dress you love, a simple bodysuit, your partner's shirt — and we mix them. Before the session I send a short guide on what flatters and what to avoid.

It's the most common question and the answer is simple: you don't have to know. I work with very concrete cues — turn your shoulders, look towards the light, bring your hands here — and between frames we review the result so you gain confidence. Soft light and fabrics do half the work. Within ten minutes most clients forget the camera is there.

Of course, and it's often the loveliest part. We set aside part of the session for solo portraits — the most artistic, silhouette-driven ones — and another part for you as a family: your partner's hands on the bump, an older child resting their head, knowing glances. If children come along, we plan their part at the start, while they're still fresh and patient.
