Why Ibiza for a wedding that doesn't look like an "Ibiza wedding"

For editorial wedding photography, Ibiza offers compositions no other Mediterranean destination matches: whitewashed Dalt Vila walls against midday sea, pines twisted by the western wind, and Es Vedrà as a symbolic background that needs no justification.

Wedding venues and locations in Ibiza

Hacienda Na Xamena: cliff-hotel in the northwest with 270° view over Benirràs cove. No equal for sea-facing sunset ceremonies. Capacity 80-120 guests, venue from €25,000.

Atzaró Agroturismo: orange and centuries-old olive finca in Santa Eulària. Rustic-luxe aesthetic perfect for relaxed weddings with natural look. Capacity 100-180, venue €18,000-32,000.

Can Lluc Boutique Hotel: in the island's center, with olive groves and open country. More affordable than coastal, perfect for 60-100 guest weddings. Venue €12,000-22,000.

Pricing and season for an Ibiza wedding

Ibiza has the highest destination premium in Spain — 35% to 60% above peninsular pricing for photography. Reasons: ultra-concentrated season (May-October), massive international demand, team accommodation costs (€1,500-3,500 hotel in season), traffic-congested transfers, scarcity of editorial-level resident photographers.

Realistic photography range: basic €3,000-4,500 (8h, 400-500 photos, no second), mid €4,800-7,500 (10h with second shooter, 600-800 photos, optional album), premium €8,000-15,000 (multi-day full coverage, team of 2-3, drone, short video included).

Key logistics: book photographer 14-18 months ahead for July-August, 10-12 months for May/June/September. October is becoming the "new September" — ideal temperature and prices drop 15-20% vs July.

Extra costs to budget: photographer accommodation on island (1-2 nights hotel, €200-400/night in season), transfers (Ibiza-Sant Joan taxi €60 one way, scooter rental for assistants), permits for protected venues (Cala Comte requires Consell Insular authorization for larger production).

Drone: legal with AESA pilot and registered flight plan. Restricted zones: airport, Ses Salines military zone, certain coves protected in bird breeding season (April-June). Additional cost €400-800 for aerial coverage.
