A cake smash is pure fun: a baby, a cake and permission to wreck it. The puzzled faces, the first finger full of frosting, the giggles and the final chaos make photos the whole family remembers with laughter.
Ibiza provides the perfect stage to celebrate that first year with light and colour. The island's Mediterranean light and clean backdrops —the white of the houses, the blue of the sea, the green of the countryside— let the little one and the cake be the stars, with no distractions.
You bring the birthday child; I make sure the mess is immortalised in the most beautiful and funny way possible.
Where we do it and how it's set up
A cake smash can be set up two ways. Outdoors, in a quiet corner of Cala Comte or on a patch of grass or Ibizan field, it gives bright, summery photos with the sky behind. Indoors —at your home or a booked space— we control the light and backdrop perfectly and cleaning up is easier.
Before the cake I take some portraits of the birthday child clean and dressed up, with simple décor —balloons, a blanket, a garland— in the colours you choose. Then comes the star: the cake. I let the little one discover it at their own pace, no forcing, and shoot every reaction, from the first shy touch to the full splat.
If you like, we finish with a bubble bath for an adorable closing series, the baby clean and happy among the foam.
When, duration and delivery
A cake smash is usually done around the first birthday, when the baby can sit on their own and is curious about the cake. Indoors we can do it year-round; outdoors in Ibiza, from May to October, best mid-morning or late afternoon to avoid strong sun. The golden hour gives a lovely finish outdoors.
A session lasts around an hour: portraits, the cake and, if included, the final bath. You receive a digital gallery of edited high-resolution photos, ready to share or print, delivered within five to ten days.
The price is from 160€. You can bring the cake and décor yourselves or I can help arrange them; we sort it at booking so everything matches your colours and theme.
