Getting married in Granada
Few cities give a wedding a set like Granada: the Alhambra cut against the Sierra Nevada, the Albaicín carmenes with their myrtle patios and fountains, the Sacromonte caves where flamenco truly beats. Here a wedding isn't staged against a pretty backdrop — it's celebrated inside a landscape with centuries of history.
My way of working is documentary and discreet: I tell the day as it happens, without interrupting it. I chase the light, the glances and the small gestures — the mother fixing the veil, the moved grandfather, the first dance under the lanterns — and build from them an honest story, not an album of repeated poses.
How I cover the day
I begin with the preparations — in a city-centre hotel or an Albaicín carmen — and follow the whole thread: the ceremony, the cocktail, the dinner and the party. For the couple portraits we slip away a while at golden hour: the Mirador de San Nicolás with the Alhambra ablaze, a white Albaicín lane, a carmen patio, or the Sacromonte caves if you want character and flamenco.
I know the light timings and the logistics of every corner: when the sun hits the wall head-on, which viewpoint is free of crowds at dawn, how to square the ceremony with sunset. If you ask, I coordinate with a second shooter so we never lose the groom's reaction as the bride arrives, nor the dance floor while the intimate portraits are made.
Season, scope and delivery
Spring and autumn are the best season: clear skies, kind temperatures and long light at sunset. In winter snow crowns the Sierra Nevada behind the Alhambra and gives spectacular backdrops; summer calls for late-in-the-day ceremonies to dodge the heat. Book months ahead, and if the wedding includes an Alhambra visit, arrange the tickets early.
Every wedding is different, so I work by project, made to measure. Full day coverage starts from around €900 and adjusts to the hours, whether you want a second shooter, a separate couple session or another day, a printed album or video.
I deliver an edited high-resolution digital gallery within five to ten days after the wedding — a first preview with a selection sooner — ready to share, print and relive the day exactly as it was.
