Eloping to Granada

Granada is made for an intimate wedding of two: the white lanes of the Albaicín at dawn, a hidden carmen with its patio of fountains and myrtle, the Alhambra turning gold while the Sierra Nevada glows behind. No guests, no protocol, no rush — just the two of you, your words and a landscape that has been beautiful for centuries.

An elopement isn't a small wedding: it's something else. It's choosing the whole day for yourselves, reading your vows where no one watches, toasting at sunset high on the hill. My role is to accompany you discreetly, mind the timing and the light, and give the day back to you in images that tell it just as it was.

Where and how we live it

The Mirador de San Nicolás at dawn is yours alone: the Alhambra ablaze, the sierra behind and the city waking, without the crowd that arrives later. An Albaicín carmen's patio gives intimacy for the vows, with the murmur of water and gathered-in views. Sacromonte adds the soul of flamenco and the caves; and if you want height and silence, the Generalife paths or a rise above the city finish the day.

The plan is flexible and moves at your pace. We usually start early to have the light and the places free, string two or three locations together on foot or by taxi, stop to toast and breathe. I don't direct every gesture: I offer a frame, a walk, a place to sit, and let the two of you appear. If you need an officiant, a bouquet or a small sunset picnic, I arrange it.

Season, scope and delivery

Spring and autumn are ideal for the long light and mild climate; winter gifts the Sierra Nevada snow behind the Alhambra for images no one else has. In summer we choose dawn or the last hour of the day. Dawn is also the Albaicín's secret: the lanes and viewpoints stand empty and the light is at its purest.

Every elopement is different, so I work by project, made to measure, from around €900. A typical day covers two or three locations, the vows and a relaxed couple session; it extends with full-day coverage, a distant second location, video or coordinating an officiant and flowers.

You receive an edited high-resolution digital gallery in five to ten days, ready to print and share, with the day's story told in order, just as it happened.
