How does a lifestyle session differ from a normal family portrait?

A classic family portrait has posed frames, looking at the camera, arranged. Lifestyle is the opposite: it documents what you do without stopping to pose — a walk through the Albaicín, breakfast in the carmen, the kids playing. Less direction, more life. They blend well: I include a few tidier frames for the grandparents, but most of the gallery is natural.

Can we do part of the session at our accommodation or rented carmen?

Yes, and it's very much the lifestyle style. If you have a carmen or apartment with good natural light and a patio or terrace with a view, starting there gives intimate scenes — morning coffee, the kids in pyjamas, you in your space — before heading out into the Albaicín streets. I just need to see a photo of the place at booking to plan the light.

What do we do during the session if we don't pose?

I suggest simple, real activities: walk hand in hand up a slope, let the kids go ahead exploring, sit on a bench with a view, share something to eat. I give small cues on direction and light position, but the content is yours. No dead time, no awkward poses — it's basically having a good time while I document.

How many photos do we get and can they be printed?

You receive a digital gallery with a generous selection of the best photos, edited in high resolution and delivered in five to ten days. All come in print quality, so you can make prints, an album or wall art without issue. A lifestyle session usually yields many varied images because it captures a sequence of moments, not just a few posed ones.

The lifestyle approach is about documenting, not directing. Instead of placing you to face the camera, I suggest you do things together — walk, play, have breakfast outdoors — and I capture the real gestures that surface in between.

What a lifestyle session looks like

We can start in a carmen with a garden, that Granadan patio with bougainvillea and water, where the family moves freely while I work without interrupting. Then we head out to the white Albaicín slopes, where a walk turns into a natural sequence of photos.

If you'd like to end on a postcard, we pop up to the Mirador de San Nicolás for a couple of frames with the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada behind. The Paseo de los Tristes, flat and open, is perfect for the kids to run along the wall.

I don't stop to correct poses. I give you a couple of activity ideas and let the family dynamic flow: the glances, the cuddles and the laughter come on their own, and that's exactly what the lifestyle style captures.

Season, length and delivery

The soft light of early morning or late afternoon suits the lifestyle style best: natural and without harsh shadows. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons; in summer we go at sunrise, when the Albaicín is cool and empty, and in winter the Sierra Nevada snow behind adds character.

A lifestyle session lasts an hour to an hour and a half, the time needed for the family to relax and forget the camera. The digital gallery of edited high-resolution photos arrives in five to ten days.
