Portraits with the Alhambra behind you
Granada portrays differently: from the Mirador de San Nicolás the Alhambra lights up gold at sunset, and behind it the Sierra Nevada closes the horizon with its snow. That contrast of warm walls and cold mountain is a backdrop no other Spanish city gives you.
The mountain air here is clean and the light sharp. That makes skin look natural and eyes shine without any help — you just have to stand in the right place at the right hour.
I work at your pace, with no rigid posing. The aim is for the portrait to look like you on a good day, not a studio pose transplanted onto a postcard.
Where we shoot in Granada
The Mirador de San Nicolás is the postcard, but there's more. The white, steep lanes of the Albaicín offer corners of whitewash, geraniums and wooden doors for intimate portraits in the late afternoon. The Sacromonte, with its caves and open view over the valley, brings a rawer, more honest texture.
Near the Alhambra grounds the wooded paths and the Cuesta de los Chinos give dappled green shade; we use the monument as a backdrop from the miradores, since the interior restricts commercial use and tripods. The cathedral and Capilla Real area adds noble stone for something more urban.
Before the session we agree on two or three spots that suit you and map a short walking route. No rush: we walk, we talk, and I shoot while you relax.
When, how long and what you get
Spring and autumn are the best seasons: clear days, mild temperatures and, in winter, the snowy Sierra Nevada as a luxury backdrop. Summer calls for shooting early or late to dodge the heat. The golden hour before sunset gilds the Alhambra's walls and is the moment we chase most.
A portrait session lasts between one hour and an hour and a half, enough for one or two outfit changes and a couple of locations on foot. We work calmly and leave room for that light that shifts minute by minute as the sun drops.
You receive a digital gallery of edited high-resolution photos within five to ten days, ready to print or share. The portrait session starts from €150; if you want more time, another location or more final images, we adjust it at booking.
