What week of pregnancy is best for the session?

The sweet spot is between weeks 28 and 34. In that range the bump already has a lovely round shape for artistic portraits, yet you still move freely and don't tire too easily. With twins we usually bring it a little earlier. Book a bit ahead to secure a date inside that window.

I don't know how to pose and I feel shy. How do you help?

That's completely normal and you don't need to know anything. I direct you step by step: where to place your hands, how to turn your body, where to look, when to breathe and drop your shoulders. We start with simple poses so you build confidence, and I show you the first results on the camera — seeing yourself look good on screen is what makes you relax. Within ten minutes you forget I'm there.

What do I wear and who provides the wardrobe?

For the artistic look, long flowing dresses that trace the silhouette, plain neutral tones and fabrics that move with the sea breeze work especially well. Before the session I send you a guide with examples by location. You bring your favourite pieces; if you'd like, I keep a few flowing gowns to borrow — let me know at booking so I have your size ready.

Can my partner or older child be in the photos?

Of course. While artistic maternity centres on you and on form, we devote part of the session to a few frames with your partner and, if there is one, the older sibling resting a hand on the bump. They're very tender images that round out the series. Just tell me at booking so I plan the time and pick comfortable locations if a small child is coming.

We chase form, not filler — the curve, the shadow, the hand resting on the bump — so each image works as a small piece rather than just one more album shot.

Barcelona gives exactly the material for that. The diffuse sea light softens skin effortlessly, Gaudí's modernism brings texture and colour when we want something painterly, and the Mediterranean inside the city lets us close with a clean silhouette against the sea. In a single morning you can move from old stone to golden sand.

We work unhurried and with clear direction, so you feel beautiful and at ease even if you've never stood in front of a camera. You just bring the dress and the willingness; we handle the rest.

Where we shoot and how the session runs

We start wherever the character of the image calls for it. Park Güell's mosaic terraces and Gaudí backdrops bring colour and painterly rhythm; the Gothic Quarter and El Born, with their narrow stone streets nearly empty early in the morning, give clean light and an intimate, timeless feel. For something more ethereal we head down to the Mediterranean: Bogatell beach or Barceloneta at sunrise, with open sky and the silhouette cut against the water.

The session lasts between one hour and ninety minutes, with plenty of room for one or two wardrobe changes. I guide every pose — where to rest a hand, how to turn the body, what to do with your gaze — and show you the camera along the way so you watch the series grow and gain confidence.

If you'd like your partner or an older child included, they slot naturally into part of the frames. And if you prefer some studio work with fabrics and controlled light for the most artistic portraits, we combine it with the outdoor shoot on the same day.

When, what's included and price

The best stage of pregnancy for the session is between weeks 28 and 34, when the bump already looks round and you still move comfortably. In Barcelona we can shoot all year; spring (May and June) and early autumn (September and October) give the kindest light and temperature. We shoot first thing in the morning or in the golden hour at sunset, when the light is soft and the streets are calm.

The session includes pre-shoot planning with ideas and locations, up to ninety minutes of shooting with one or two wardrobe changes, pose direction throughout, and a final selection of carefully edited high-resolution portraits.

The price starts from €190 and the digital gallery is delivered within 5 to 10 days, ready to share and print. If you'd like to add studio, a second location, flowing gowns or your partner in part of the photos, we quote that to your measure at booking.
