Love Story — Barcelona

It's the most common thing, and my way of working is designed for exactly that. I don't ask you to kiss on command or look at the camera while embracing; I give you small tasks — walk and tell me how you met, whisper a secret — and shoot from a comfortable distance. By focusing on each other rather than on me, the shyness fades on its own. Within ten or fifteen minutes you'll be genuinely laughing.

Absolutely, and those are often the loveliest sessions. Couples with years behind them have a closeness that can't be faked: gestures, private jokes, a way of being comfortable together that shows in every photo. We're not after movie passion but your truth. It doesn't matter if it's an anniversary, a getaway or simply wanting good photos together — it always makes sense.

We decide together. If you have a place that means something to you — where you had your first date in Barcelona, your favourite neighbourhood — we gladly include it. If not, I suggest combinations that work well for light, intimacy and variety: for example the alleys of El Born at sunset and then the sea at La Barceloneta. I adapt the route to your style and to the energy you want to convey.

It happens more than you'd think and it's not a problem. The key is that we're not doing a posed session but spending a good time together while I capture from the outside. Whoever hates photos usually relaxes once they understand they don't have to look at the camera or force a smile. I lean on the other one to draw out natural laughter, and almost always the sceptic ends up loving the photos most when they see them.
