Family lifestyle session — Alicante

In a classic family session there's a bit more direction and portraits looking at the camera. The lifestyle one is pure documentary: we record how you really live, without posing, in your everyday — at home, on the beach, walking. There's more movement, more play and more naturalness. Many families combine both: a few portraits looking together and lots of spontaneous real-life material.

Yes, and it's one of the loveliest parts. All I need is natural light: a big window is enough. There's no need to over-tidy — a bit of life in the scene looks better than a perfect set. We start at home with breakfast, play or getting ready, then head out to the Explanada or Postiguet. If the apartment's light is scarce, we check beforehand and adjust the plan.

I don't ask them to pose, quite the opposite. I suggest things they already enjoy — hunting shells on Postiguet, playing hide-and-seek in the Santa Cruz lanes, eating an ice cream — and step back to photograph. When a child is busy with something fun they forget the camera completely, and that's where the real expressions appear. The less I make the camera the centre, the better they act.

From a session of an hour and a half to two hours I usually deliver a broad gallery of carefully edited images, normally between seventy and a hundred and twenty depending on how the day flows, enough to tell the full story without filler. You receive them in an online digital gallery in high resolution, ready to download, share and print, within five to ten days. I select only the best; I don't deliver repeats or rejects.
