Pet portraits — Granada

Yes, and restless animals often give the liveliest photos. I don't force them to hold still: I shoot in burst while they move and use the pauses between runs for the calmer frames. Starting early, when they still have energy but the place is quiet, helps a lot. With their treats and a little patience we always get several beautiful portraits.

The Albaicín streets, the squares and viewpoints like San Nicolás are freely accessible and perfect for leashed pets. Some private carmen gardens require permission, and the Alhambra's interior spaces don't admit animals except assistance dogs. That's why I plan the route with locations that do allow your pet and still have the Alhambra or the city in the background. I confirm everything before the session.

Bring their favourite treats, a toy they love and, if there is one, a sound or word that makes their ears perk up — those are gold for the look at the camera. Water and a folding bowl are useful if it's warm. Brush their coat before heading out so it looks glossy. If you have a nice collar or harness, bring it; and if you want lead-free frames, we do those only at safe, enclosed spots.

Yes. For cats and more reserved animals I usually recommend the session in a quiet carmen garden or even at home, where they feel on their own territory. I work slowly, without sudden noises, and let the animal set the pace. I've also photographed rabbits and companion birds: what matters is adapting the place and rhythm to their character. Tell me which pet it is at booking and I prepare the plan to suit them.
