Anniversary photoshoot — Madrid

That's exactly why I don't make you pose. I give you small things to do — walk hand in hand, recall your first date, tease each other a little — and I photograph what happens in between. The closeness of a couple who's been together for years shows on its own; my job is to stay out of its way. Within ten minutes you forget the camera.

Yes, and it looks lovely. Many couples book sunset at the Templo de Debod or on the Círculo de Bellas Artes rooftop and then head to dinner nearby. If one of you is planning a surprise for the other — a gift, a letter, renewing the promise — we agree on a signal by message and I capture it from a distance, just like a proposal.

In a one-hour to ninety-minute session we comfortably cover two, sometimes three nearby corners — say Retiro and Debod, or Plaza Mayor and Gran Vía. More than that tends to cost calm and starts to feel like a race. If you're keen on several different spots, we extend the time and plan it so the walk stays enjoyable.

For a milestone anniversary I like to give the story weight. If you have an old photo from when you started out, we can recreate its pose or place and set them side by side — the contrast is moving. Details work too: the same clothes from a trip, a meaningful object, or quietly inviting your children for a couple of family portraits at the end. We talk it through beforehand so the session tells your story, not a generic one.
