Why Mallorca for a generations photoshoot

Getting grandparents, parents and children in one place doesn't happen every year, and when it does in Mallorca it's usually thanks to a holiday that's already special. A generations photoshoot turns that reunion into a portrait that ties three different ages together in one landscape.

The island helps because it offers settings that feel both noble and comfortable: stone, olive trees and sea behind, yet with easy access and short drives. For grandparents that matters: no location is more than 80 minutes from the airport and almost all let us park close and shoot without long walks.

Best locations and how we organize the group

The Tramuntana's olive groves and fincas are our first choice: dry-stone walls, the shade of century-old olive trees, and a timeless backdrop that suits a grandparent as well as a grandchild. There's room to sit and rest between frames.

If the group prefers the sea, the quiet southeastern coves or a viewpoint toward Sa Foradada at sunset make for striking portraits. For a more urban, elegant touch, Palma's old town with La Seu behind works very well in the morning.

We work in layers: first the full portrait of the whole family, then subgroups (grandparents with grandchildren, siblings, each couple), and finally loose moments. That way nobody tires of posing and we make the most of every minute of good light.

Timing, duration and price of the generations session

A generations session lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, a little longer than a standard family one because there are more people and combinations to cover. We pick the late afternoon or early morning; in summer we avoid midday for the heat, which is especially tiring for older relatives and children.

From €200, with an edited digital gallery delivered in 5-10 days. Spring and autumn are ideal for the mild temperature. All it takes is coordinating the date with everyone's stay on the island: with a rental car (about €25/day) we reach any location comfortably without overly early starts.
