Why Mallorca for an elopement
An elopement means marrying just for the two of you, or nearly: no guests or a minimal list, without the choreography of a big wedding. Mallorca fits perfectly because it concentrates powerful settings 80 minutes from the airport, with direct flights from almost all of Europe: you can land, marry among cliffs and olive groves, and celebrate over an intimate dinner without the day turning into a production.
Unlike a classic destination wedding, freedom of movement comes first here. With no large group to coordinate, we can start at sunrise at Cap de Formentor, read the vows in an empty cove and finish in the last light over Sa Foradada. The day is built around the couple, not the catering.
Locations, permits and how the day unfolds
Favourite elopement locations: Cap de Formentor for the dramatic sunrise, the southeast coves for intimate vows at the water's edge, Sa Foradada for sunset (a 30-minute hike from Son Marroig, its restaurant licenses small events), and the olive groves of Deià and Valldemossa for mid-afternoon portraits. An inland finca adds an ochre-stone backdrop and a covered plan B if the weather turns.
To marry legally in Spain, the civil route requires residency paperwork that usually takes months; many couples settle the legal part in their home country and hold a symbolic ceremony with an officiant in Mallorca, which gives total freedom of location and timing. We advise on the route that suits you best.
The day typically covers 6 to 10 hours: preparations, ceremony, couple session at two or three locations, and a toast or final dinner. With a rental car (around €25/day) we chain the spots without stress. If you want it from the air, a drone is possible with an AESA-certified pilot and permit, except in restricted zones.
Season, duration, delivery and price
Best season: spring and autumn, with mild temperatures, empty coves and clear skies. The long, warm blue hour from May to October gives gorgeous light for sunset vows. In high summer we shoot at sunrise or in the last light, never midday, and we start early because the coves fill up soon.
Pricing starts from around €900 for roughly full-day coverage: preparations, ceremony, couple session across several locations, and the celebration. Common add-ons are a symbolic officiant, drone (with AESA pilot and permit) and transfers between spots, which we budget separately per plan.
We deliver 150 to 300 edited photos in an online gallery within 14-21 days, with a preview selection in 72 hours. Book 4-6 months ahead in general, and 8-10 months if the date falls in July or August, when demand and heat force careful schedule planning.
