A fine-art portrait, made on Ibiza
Fine-art personal photography isn't after a passport likeness: it's after an image that stands as a work, something you hang on the wall and that keeps moving you years later. It's atmosphere, light as material and an idea behind every frame.
Ibiza is an uncommon canvas. The white, mineral light of the Mediterranean, the whitewashed walls, the bare rock and the infinite sea allow for distilled, almost painterly compositions. We work slowly, with intent, treating each frame as a considered piece and not as one more photo.
The process and where we create it
We start from the idea, not the place: what you want to convey, which references move you, what tone — serene, sensual, melancholic, powerful. From there I choose the location and the light that serve that concept.
Es Vedrà at sunset lends its mythical silhouette for minimalist compositions facing the sea. The rock and still water of Cala Salada allow solitary figures and an almost dreamlike air. The whitewashed walls and arches of Dalt Vila offer a clean, geometric backdrop where the light draws. And the pines and salt flats give natural textures for something more earthy.
During the session there's silence and calm. I direct you with few words towards contained gestures, playing with shadows, silhouettes and negative space. There's no rush: sometimes we wait ten minutes for the light to do what it has to do. A fine-art session lasts between 90 minutes and two hours.
Season, light and the final work
The season runs from May to October; September gives the most beautiful light and the calmest island, ideal for working with no crowds around. For fine art we play with extreme light: the golden sunset on the west coast for silhouettes and backlight, the clean sunrise on the salt flats, or even the hard white light of midday when we want graphic shadows and a mineral feel.
It includes a prior conversation to define the concept and references, full art direction during the session, and a careful fine-art edit — colour, atmosphere and a finish meant for large prints. The digital high-resolution gallery is delivered in 5 to 10 days.
The fine-art personal session starts from €150. As it's a piece for the wall, I can also prepare museum-quality prints on fine-art paper or mounted, and give you printing guidance; that physical finish we quote separately at booking.
