What's the difference between lifestyle and a normal family session?

A classic session has more direction: I place you, look for good portraits, ask for the odd glance at the camera. Lifestyle is documentary: I barely intervene and let you live the moment — a walk, a game, a breakfast — while I capture from the outside. The photos come out more spontaneous, with movement and real emotion. Many families mix both approaches in the same session, and we can do that too.

Can you do the session in our apartment or accommodation?

Yes, and it's one of the loveliest lifestyle formats. We start with the morning routine — coffee, breakfast, kids in pyjamas, games on the bed — where the family is more at ease than anywhere. I just need some natural light coming through the windows. Then, if you like, we head out to a park or the nearby beach to continue the day outside.

What if the kids don't cooperate or are in a bad mood?

In lifestyle that's not a problem, it's material. I don't need a child to cooperate because I ask nothing of them — I let them be. A tantrum, a comforting cuddle or a hug from dad are moments as real and beautiful as a laugh. We work in their best window of the day and without rushing, so the bad mood almost always passes on its own once they relax.

How long does it last and when do we get the photos?

The lifestyle session lasts between one hour and an hour and a half — a bit more than a posed shoot, because we let things flow without a clock. Afterwards I select and hand-edit the images with a natural, timeless finish, and deliver a high-resolution digital gallery within five to ten days, ready to download, print or make an album of this stage.

Barcelona sets the perfect backdrop for that documentary style: neighbourhood corners with character, parks where the family moves freely and an urban sea that invites you to stay barefoot. Nothing looks staged because almost nothing is.

My job is to disappear and let the day happen. You live the moment; I gather it from the outside, without interrupting, so that years from now you remember exactly how this stage felt.

Where and how the shoot runs

Lifestyle works best where the family feels at home. Parc de la Ciutadella gives room for a picnic, playing on the grass or feeding the ducks while I stay to one side. El Born and the Gothic Quarter offer neighbourhood streets for a real stroll, with stops at a bakery or a square.

If you prefer the sea, a quiet morning at Bogatell or Barceloneta beach is perfect: building castles, getting your feet wet, sharing breakfast on a blanket. I can also start in your own apartment or stay, with the morning routine — coffee, breakfast, kids in pyjamas.

I don't direct scenes, I suggest plans. I tell you what to do — walk over there, play this — and then I step back to document. I ask nothing of the children; I let them be, and that's where the magic of the style is.

Season, duration and what you receive

The lifestyle style asks for soft light and a calm atmosphere, so the first hour of the morning is perfect: the locations are empty and the family is fresh. May–June and September–October give the kindest temperature; in summer we start early to avoid heat and crowds.

A lifestyle session lasts between one hour and an hour and a half, a little longer than a classic posed shoot because the idea is to let things happen unhurried. We usually stay in a single setting — a park, a beach morning, your home — so we don't break the naturalness with travel.
