Family lifestyle session — Barcelona

A classic session has more direction: I place you, look for good portraits, ask for the odd glance at the camera. Lifestyle is documentary: I barely intervene and let you live the moment — a walk, a game, a breakfast — while I capture from the outside. The photos come out more spontaneous, with movement and real emotion. Many families mix both approaches in the same session, and we can do that too.

Yes, and it's one of the loveliest lifestyle formats. We start with the morning routine — coffee, breakfast, kids in pyjamas, games on the bed — where the family is more at ease than anywhere. I just need some natural light coming through the windows. Then, if you like, we head out to a park or the nearby beach to continue the day outside.

In lifestyle that's not a problem, it's material. I don't need a child to cooperate because I ask nothing of them — I let them be. A tantrum, a comforting cuddle or a hug from dad are moments as real and beautiful as a laugh. We work in their best window of the day and without rushing, so the bad mood almost always passes on its own once they relax.

The lifestyle session lasts between one hour and an hour and a half — a bit more than a posed shoot, because we let things flow without a clock. Afterwards I select and hand-edit the images with a natural, timeless finish, and deliver a high-resolution digital gallery within five to ten days, ready to download, print or make an album of this stage.
