We have elderly grandparents — are the locations accessible?

Yes, I take that very much into account. I choose spots with flat paths, no stairs or slopes, and benches nearby so the elders can sit between shots. Parc de la Ciutadella is ideal for that. If someone uses a wheelchair or walker, tell me at booking and I plan the route so getting there and moving around is easy and comfortable for everyone.

How many people can be in the session?

There's no strict limit — I've photographed from three people to families of fifteen or more. For large groups I choose spacious locations like Parc de la Ciutadella and set aside a little more time to arrange everyone and do the subgroup combinations. Let me know the exact number at booking so I plan the time and framing well.

How do you get everyone looking good at the same time?

It's the hardest part of a large group, especially with young children, so I shoot many frames in a row to make sure everyone looks good in at least one. I also take more relaxed, spontaneous photos where it doesn't matter if someone looks elsewhere: often those, with the family laughing or talking among themselves, end up being liked more than the perfect posed portrait.

When do we get the photos and can we make copies for everyone?

The high-resolution digital gallery arrives in five to ten days, and from it each branch of the family can download the photos and order whatever prints they want. They're images meant to be printed large, framed and gifted — exactly what a generations session is for. If you like, I'll advise on sizes and formats so they look right hung at home.

Three generations, in Barcelona

Bringing grandparents, parents and children together in one photo is something that rarely happens — and when it does, you mustn't let it pass. A generations session keeps that bond uniting the whole family in a single image, the kind that gets handed down.

Barcelona is a good meeting point: well connected, with locations that are accessible and comfortable for elders, and a warm light that flatters every age. You don't have to walk far or complicate things to get beautiful backdrops.

My priority is that everyone is at ease, from the youngest to the oldest. A calm pace, places to sit and rest, and the attention on what truly matters: being all together.

Where and how the shoot runs

For groups with elders I choose comfortable, easily accessible locations. Parc de la Ciutadella is perfect: flat paths, benches and grass to sit on, tree shade and the monumental fountain as a backdrop. Everyone fits, there's somewhere to rest and nobody tires.

If the family wants something more representative of the city, the Gothic Quarter offers quiet, charming squares with little slope. And the Barceloneta promenade, by the sea, gives an open, bright backdrop with no need to step onto the sand if it's hard for the elders.

I combine the full group portrait with smaller groups — the grandparents alone, each child with their parents, the grandchildren with the grandparents — so nobody is left out. I work calmly, allow breaks and make the most of the spontaneous moments between shots, which are often the best.

Season, duration and what you receive

For a session with several generations, mild temperature matters more than ever. May–June and September–October are ideal: neither cold for the elders nor the strong heat of summer. We work in late afternoon or early morning, with golden light and a calm atmosphere.

The session lasts about an hour. That's enough time for the big portrait and all the subgroup combinations, with pauses for the elders and little ones to rest. We stay in a single comfortable location so as not to complicate the group's logistics.

You receive a digital gallery of hand-edited high-resolution photos, ready in five to ten days, perfect to print, frame and gift to each branch of the family. From €180; if the group is very large or you want a second location, we tailor that at booking.
