Top 5 locations for a marriage proposal in Ibiza

Cala d'Hort: the beach with direct view of Es Vedrà. Sunset between 20:50-21:30 in June, 19:30-20:10 in September. Access by secondary road 35 min from Ibiza city. El Carmen restaurant is right above — ideal for a "long lunch" while waiting for perfect light. Free parking in low season, paid in July-August.

Cala Comte (Sunset Ashram): the rocky platform before Sunset Ashram bar offers perfect geometric lines. Arrive 45 minutes before sunset to secure position. In July-August it's saturated — alternative: descend to the cove from Sa Caleta and climb the rocks to the left.

Cap des Falcó: the secret southern cove. Access by 10-minute dirt road from Las Salinas. Almost no tourists because it doesn't feature prominently on Google Maps. Perfect for couples who want the proposal without an audience.

Cala Carbó: small pebble cove with side view of Es Vedrà. Ideal if you want Es Vedrà in composition without being exactly at Cala d'Hort (more intimate). 5-minute walk from the parking lot.

Dalt Vila (old town of Ibiza): for urban proposals or couples who prefer architecture over beach. The ramparts facing the harbor with warm sunset light create very "classic European" compositions. Free pedestrian access.

How the "hidden photographer" format works

80% of proposals we cover in Ibiza use the surprise format: the photographer works 15-40 meters away with a 200-400mm telephoto, neutral tourist clothes (white t-shirt, cap), pretending to photograph landscape. The couple notices nothing until the "yes".

Pre-coordination with the partner organizing the proposal: exact time, direction of approach (so the photographer positions with sun behind), visible signal to confirm "now" (usually removing sunglasses or pulling out a specific object).

After the "yes" we step in at 5 meters and propose a 20-30 minute mini-session at the same spot with light shift. This delivers both spontaneous shots of the real moment and composed "after the yes" portraits — both usually go together in the final album.

Optional additional coverage: video with a second camera on a hidden tripod between the rocks, high drone if the location allows (Cala d'Hort yes, Cala Comte requires permit due to proximity to Sunset Ashram), and "after-proposal champagne setup" prepared by our assistant off-frame.

Optimal calendar and pricing for an Ibiza proposal

Best months: May, first half of June, second half of September and first half of October. Good temperature, acceptable water, long sunsets and far less crowding than July-August. If you can only go in summer, plan the proposal at sunrise (5:50-7:15 in June) to have any location practically empty.

Exact sunset time by month: May 21:00-21:25, June 21:15-21:35, July 21:10-21:30, August 20:30-21:00, September 19:30-20:10, October 18:45-19:30. Always arrive 45 minutes early to secure the best composition and light.
