Why shoot a portrait in Mallorca

A strong portrait lives on light and character, and Mallorca offers both. Palma's golden stone, the dry-stone walls of the Tramuntana and the water of the southeast bounce back a warm light that sculpts the face without hardening it: as good for a personal portrait as for a professional headshot with presence.

We don't chase catalogue poses. We spend a few minutes with you until you settle, watch how you move and build images that show who you are: a gaze, a gesture, the way you hold a quiet moment. The setting supports the frame, but you are always the subject.

Portrait locations and how we work the face

Palma old town: shaded stone alleys and textured walls that give clean, elegant backdrops, perfect for half-length portraits and headshots. Light bouncing between buildings is soft and flattering.

Century-old olive groves and the viewpoints of Deià or Valldemossa: gnarled trunks, silvery foliage and out-of-focus backgrounds that isolate the face with a timeless feel. Ideal for a more personal, narrative portrait.

Cala Llombards or a Tramuntana cliff at sunset: the sky as a clean backdrop and warm side light that defines the cheekbones. We work close, guiding micro-gestures and breathing so the expression reads natural, not frozen.

Duration, season, delivery and price

A portrait runs 45-60 minutes: enough to loosen up and work several expressions and framings across one or two nearby locations. We shoot at sunrise or in the last hour of light; in high summer we skip midday, when the sun casts shadows under the eyes and makes you squint. Spring and autumn are the best seasons for their clean light.
