When night falls, Seville changes its skin: the Plaza de España lights up and its arches and tiles reflect warm light over the canal, while the Giralda stands golden against the dark sky. It's one of the most cinematic night settings in Spain for a portrait.
Night also solves the Seville summer problem. When the daytime heat presses down and the squares fill up, after dusk the temperature drops, the monuments empty out and the city becomes intimate and easy to work with.
With the architectural lighting as a backdrop and a touch of our own light on you, we get portraits with atmosphere, depth and that golden glow only Andalusian stone lit at night can give.
How we work the night light
We start in the blue hour, that short window after sunset when the sky keeps a deep blue and the city lights are already on. It's the perfect balance of lit backdrop and coloured sky, and from there we move into full night for the most dramatic frames.
The Plaza de España is the star: lit arches, the reflection in the canal and the bridges give a monumental backdrop. We add the Giralda and the cathedral façade lit up, and the Metropol Parasol for modern geometry with integrated light. Each spot brings a different atmosphere within the same session.
For you I use controlled light — a small flash or LED panel with diffusion, or the warmth of the street lamps — so the face stays clean and well exposed while the background keeps its glow. Mixing that own light with the ambient light is what separates a polished night portrait from a dark photo.
Logistics, timing and price
The best start is the blue hour: we begin about twenty minutes after sunset and carry on into the night. In summer it's also the coolest, most pleasant time to move around the centre, which is walkable between the Plaza de España, the cathedral and the Metropol Parasol.
A night session needs a little more technical care than a daytime one — long exposures, our own light, a tripod on some frames — but the result has an atmosphere impossible to get by day. Bring a couple of outfit changes; plain, elegant tones look especially good under the warm lighting.
Pricing starts from €150 and includes the session, the lighting, the locations and a digital gallery of edited high-resolution photos, delivered in five to ten days. If you want to extend with more locations or a stronger colour treatment, we look at that when you book.
