Night portraits / Neon — Seville

No, and that's exactly the difference between a professional night portrait and a phone photo. I work with a high-sensitivity camera, fast lenses and controlled own light — a diffused flash or LED panel — that lights your face cleanly while the city lighting stays a bright backdrop. On some frames I use a tripod for long exposures with zero noise. The aim is a sharp, well-exposed portrait with the atmosphere of the night intact.

The blue hour, about twenty minutes after sunset, is the ideal starting point: the sky keeps a deep blue and the monument lights are already on, so the background glows without going black. From there we move into full night for the most dramatic frames. In summer it has the added benefit of being the coolest moment of the day in Seville.

The Plaza de España is a must: its lit arches, the bridges and the reflection in the canal give a monumental, unmistakable backdrop. The Giralda and the cathedral façade lit up bring a Seville classic, and the Metropol Parasol offers modern geometry with integrated light for a more urban contrast. Since they're close together, we combine two or three in one session so the gallery has a variety of atmospheres.

The night session starts from €150 and includes the lighting, posing direction, the locations and a digital gallery of edited high-resolution photos, ready to print or share, delivered in five to ten days.
