Without doubt sunrise or the golden hour before sunset. Early on, Postiguet is almost empty, the water is like a mirror and the light is soft and golden. At sunset you get the warmest tones and backlit silhouettes. Midday, with the sun right overhead, gives harsh shadows and squinting, so we avoid it whenever possible.

Of course, and they're usually the most fun, lively photos. We can play at the shoreline, splash, walk with water at our ankles or go right in if you feel like it. My recommendation is to leave it for the end of the session, so we first get the dry portraits and then you let loose without worrying about getting wet. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for comfort.

It depends on what you're after. Postiguet is central, convenient and has the castle behind, ideal if you're short on time or without a car. The Costa Blanca coves, a bit further out, give turquoise water, rock and far fewer people, perfect for an intimate or couple session. If you tell me which style you prefer and how you get around, I recommend the best option for your session.

Clothes you feel comfortable in that match the tones of sea and sand — light, natural colours look great. If you plan to get wet, bring a change and a towel. Water, sun protection and, if we go at sunrise, a light layer are also wise because it's cool at that hour. Before the session I give you specific wardrobe ideas based on the beach and time we choose.
