Baby & newborn — Seville

The baby's safety always comes above any photo. I work with natural, gentle poses, the ones a newborn adopts on their own, never forcing the body. The more "acrobatic" images seen online are actually composites of several frames with a helper supporting the baby at all times; I prefer a natural, clean style, with the baby curled up and well supported. I look after hygiene, temperature and that they're always comfortable.

Both options work very well and it's up to you. At home the baby is in their own surroundings, the parents more relaxed and there's no need to go out with a newborn; I adapt to your natural light and your space. In a studio I have full control of temperature, backdrops and props, ideal if your home has little light. In both cases I bring everything needed — blankets, baskets, backdrops — and keep the atmosphere warm and calm for the baby.

Not at all. It's true the most curled-up poses come out best in the first two weeks, but each age has its charm. From a month on the baby is more awake, makes gestures, holds a gaze and the first near-smiles begin, which make lovely portraits. I simply adapt the approach to their age, with more photos in arms, with the family and of their features. It's never too late to keep how your baby is now.

You hardly anything: I bring blankets, baskets, backdrops and all the props. It just helps to have the house at a good temperature, nappies and clothes within reach, and to feed the baby right before so they're drowsy. And of course the siblings can be in them: their portraits meeting the newborn are usually among the most moving photos. If they come, I photograph them first, while their patience lasts, then carry on with the baby at their rhythm.
