The first two weeks are unrepeatable: the baby still curls up, sleeps deeply and keeps those just-arrived gestures that vanish so soon. That's why it's worth booking the session even before the birth.
My priority is the baby's safety and rhythm. No forcing: I work patiently, quietly, around their feeds and their sleep, so the photos convey exactly that tenderness of the first days.
At home or in studio, with soft light
The most comfortable is usually at home: the baby is in their own surroundings, the parents relaxed and everything needed within reach. I find the best window of natural light, soft and diffused, and set up a warm, clean corner. If you prefer a studio, I work in a conditioned space, with heating, neutral backdrops and soft props.
I combine two kinds of image: portraits of the sleeping baby, in safe and natural poses with blankets and baskets, and the family moments — the baby in mum's and dad's arms, the tiny hands on the big ones, the siblings meeting them. Those details are the ones that move you most over time.
I go slowly, always to the baby's rhythm. If they need to feed, sleep more or be soothed by you, we stop without rushing. The session ends when the baby is ready, not when the clock says so.
When, how long it lasts and what you receive
The ideal time is the first ten to fifteen days of life, when the baby sleeps most deeply and curls up easily. That's why it's worth booking during the pregnancy and letting me know at the birth to fine-tune the date. If the baby is already a bit older, no problem: we adapt the poses to their age.
A newborn session is long by nature: between two and three hours, because we go at the baby's rhythm, with pauses to feed and soothe. The time of day matters less than outdoors, but morning light at home is usually the loveliest and the baby is calmer then.
You receive a digital gallery of delicately edited high-resolution photos, ready to share or print, delivered within five to ten days. From 160€; if you'd like to add sibling portraits, a prior maternity session or printed copies, we tailor that with you at booking.
