The city's mild climate gives leeway, and we set up a fun scene with balloons and colour where the star can do what they do best — wreck a cake.
The first birthday is a milestone that happens only once. That year of changes — the first steps, the first words, that little face that already has personality — deserves to be kept in images full of joy.
My job is to spark the fun and catch the magic of the chaos. Laughter, hands full of sponge, that look of surprise at the first bite: the cake smash session is pure concentrated happiness, and that's exactly what I'm after.
The set, the cake and how it unfolds
We build a clean backdrop with the colour palette you choose — soft pastels, bright tones or something themed — with balloons, a small garland and the cake as the centre of the scene. We usually do it in studio, with controlled light that holds at any time of day; if you'd rather your home, we find the room with the best natural light.
We start with some clean portraits of the little one, nicely dressed and calm, to get the pretty photos before the chaos. Then the cake arrives and we let the magic happen: they touch it, smash it, taste it, laugh. I direct nothing — I give them space to explore and shoot non-stop.
If you like, we close with the bubble bath part, a very photogenic ending to clean the star up amid foam and laughter. The whole session goes at the child's pace, with breaks if needed, and the parents always close so they feel safe.
When, how long, delivery and price
The ideal moment is around the first birthday, between eleven and thirteen months, when the little one already sits up alone and is curious about everything. Being done in studio or at home, we don't depend on the weather or season; Alicante's warm climate simply gives more freedom to pick the day and time.
The session lasts between an hour and an hour and a half, enough time for the clean portraits, the cake smashing and, if we include it, the final bath. You receive a digital gallery of edited high-resolution photos, ready to share and print, within five to ten days.
The cake smash session starts from €160. It may or may not include the cake and balloons depending on what you prefer; if you'd like to add family portraits, a special themed set or the bubble bath, we adjust it to your measure at booking.
