Maternity photoshoot — Seville

The best time is usually between week 28 and 34. By then the bump is clearly round and photogenic, but you still move comfortably and the late-stage tiredness hasn't arrived. If you're expecting twins, it's worth bringing it forward a little. The key is not to leave it for the last weeks, when the pregnancy weighs more and anything unexpected can bring the birth forward. As soon as you book, we fine-tune the date to your ideal week.

Both are possible. What works best are flowing fabrics that show the silhouette — long dresses, airy materials — in soft tones that sit well with Seville's whitewash and tiles. More intimate photos in fitted clothing or even skin look beautiful too, depending on your comfort. I can provide some session dresses in maternity sizes, and I advise on combinations when we book. Bring two or three options and we choose together on the day.

I plan it precisely with your comfort in mind. In Seville we avoid the midday heat and shoot at sunrise or sunset, when it's cooler and the light is lovelier. We choose places with shade and benches nearby, like María Luisa park, and go at your pace with breaks to sit, drink water and rest whenever you need. There's no rush: if you feel tired one day, we'd rather stop than push. You stay comfortable, I take care of the rest.

Of course, and it enriches the story a lot. The session can be just yours, as a couple or with the whole family. Photos of the couple with hands on the bump, or of older siblings talking to or kissing the baby on the way, are usually among the most moving. If you bring young children, I photograph them first, while their patience lasts, then we carry on with the maternity portraits at your pace. We discuss it at booking.
