Madrid has the widest choice of rental studios in Spain, split between the centre (Atocha, Guindalera, the Chamberí districts) and well-connected industrial units on the edges of the city and out in Móstoles. You'll find everything from small 40 m² rooms with a single white cyclorama to 120 m² spaces tall enough for a runway and overhead light.
Hourly rates typically run from €15 to €50 depending on size, ceiling height and whether lighting is included. The cheapest rooms start at €15/h with a two-hour minimum; the large Profoto-equipped spaces with parking sit closer to €50/h. Almost all take online bookings with real-time availability.
What to check before you book
Confirm three things: whether lighting is included or billed separately, the minimum booking (almost always two hours) and the clear ceiling height. Full-length fashion and jump shots need four metres or more; portrait, product or newborn work needs far less. Ask which lighting brand they run (Profoto, Godox) if you're bringing your own trigger.
If you're moving a lot of kit, the edge-of-town studios with a loading door and parking are worth the trade-off — you lose the central location but gain the logistics. For a short portrait or headshot session, a central room near a metro station usually beats booking half a day in a large space.
Studio or on location in Madrid
A studio wins when you need full control of light and background: newborns, product, corporate portraits, fashion lookbooks. In Madrid it also takes the summer heat and the dry winter wind out of the equation.
